Coren, Spain's leading agri-food cooperative, has commissioned Stolz to expand its animal feed factory in Bonxe (Lugo), Spain.

On this occasion, we designed, built, assembled and commissioned a new flour heat treatment line.

The heat treatment of animal feed in the form of mixtures of floury or granulated raw materials makes it possible to obtain formulas with excellent nutritional qualities, without the limitations imposed by conventional granulation.

The temperatures used range from 60°C to 95°C and the processing times from 30 seconds to 6 minutes.

The heat treatment itself is followed by cooling to a temperature close to ambient temperature. The product can then be stored or distributed as a final product.

This entire new heat treatment line has been integrated and connected to the rest of the existing plant thanks to the construction of a new 27-metre-high tower that houses all the machinery required for the process.

In addition to this new line, a new loading trucks for processed flour has been installed and connected to the rest of the facility by a 34-metre gallery.
